Frank Lawrence Sound Project Write-Up

When a piercing noise rings out and any human is roused from the most calm and serene state of life that person's entire state of being is disturbed.  For me, I feel as if there are thousands of arms pulling my body down underneath the covers and coercing me to stay there forever.  However, to survive and succeed in this hectic world we live in one cannot simply spend all day in bed.  My piece is meant as a representation of the painful experience that is rising out of bed in the morning.  The piece includes many distinctive recurring sounds that play intermittently throughout the piece that are meant as a representation of exactly what I feel when I wake up in the morning and am forced to rush around trying to get ready for the day.  I wanted my piece to capture the chaos of any rushed morning in my life.
