The concept behind my project was to create a place using a
memory that many people can relate to, playing with boxes. Playing with boxes has always been a fond
memory of mine, but I recall it taking a lot of work before the box was ready
to be played with. I captured the sounds
of a child hard at work making her box the perfect environment for
playtime. I recorded sounds of cutting
and ripping cardboard as well as tape being torn and a pencil being
scribbling. The entire sound leads up to
the final sound, which is the child happily at play. The space was created through the obvious
movement of the child while playing with the box. The actual place may seem a bit vague to some
listeners because the place I was creating is a memory.
