Group sound project proposal:

Simple sign with arrow and our project name as well as our names, the sign could read, “Come listen”

Concept:

We want to create a fear-induced atmosphere.  Our goal was to produce a sense of shock through sounds.   Our project forces the viewer to question the origin of our sounds.  Hopefully our piece will create a feeling of wonder, confusion, and mystery.  The area that we have chosen is not a high traffic space.  It is a room where people will be passing by.  Our goal is for them to hear a glimpse of the sounds and have it catch their attention.  We chose a room that is small and enclosed with a forbidden feel to it.  Our speakers will be placed at different levels to give the piece depth.  They will be placed in fairly hidden locations such as behind doors and in corners of staircases.  To support the idea of mystery we have chosen to let the viewers find the sound by themselves with subtle use of visuals.
